I had never visited Hamburg before, so this year when I got to spend a week there on holiday I was very happy. The first time in a new city is always a great experience, filled with anticipation and uncertainty. The hotel where you are staying has a huge effect on your overall experience of a place, and my family and I had a fantastic time in Hamburg partly because we found a great place to stay, it was even near a car lease company. A nice hotel is a necessity when you are travelling, especially if you are travelling with your family by your side.

After going online to check out the tourist information pages on a few Hamburg sites, I came across zleep.de – Hotel Hamburg. Through this website I found a great hotel which was central, clean and had all of the features that my family and I needed for a fantastic vacation. Our plane arrived fairly early in the morning but we had forgotten to ask for an early check-in time and were a little worried about this. We had flown all the way from Canada and the last thing we wanted was to be told that we couldn’t check in until lunchtime. This turned out to be no problem at all however, and the friendly girl at the reception desk let us check in right away at no extra cost. When you arrive in a new city after a long flight, the sight of a new hotel room and a comfortable bed is almost like heaven.

Our youngest child was only 18 months old at the time and the room came equipped with a baby cot just as we had asked for. We quickly put the baby to bed and then we all got a little rest ourselves. Even Ben our 4 year old had a sleep, which he never normally does during the day. We all woke after a couple of hours to the sound of Richie, our baby, crying for some milk. We made the trip down to the hotel restaurant for a late lunch, and were very impressed with the food and the service. The waitress knew a little English and we knew a few words of German, so somehow we managed to get everything that we wanted and no one went hungry.

After lunch we all went out for an informal tour of the city in a taxi. We were able to phone out directly from our room which made it easy to organise the taxi, which then came and picked us up from right outside the hotel. We didn’t even have to wait in the lobby as reception called up to our room when the taxi had arrived. This seamless experience went on for the entire time we were in Hamburg, it was just one of those holidays where everything happened so easily. I am so happy that we found a great hotel Hamburg in which to stay, which allowed us to spend some stress free time in the city and enjoy the many attractions that it had to offer.
